The Swiss AIDS Federation has been active since 1985. It is the umbrella organisation of around 55 member organisations that are active in the field of HIV and sexual health.
Membership
Membership of Aids-Hilfe Schweiz connects organisations with a network of specialist centres, communities and committed individuals who champion sexual health. Members benefit from free or discounted Academy training courses, discounts in the online shop and, depending on their membership category, the right to participate in the association’s decision-making processes. The monthly specialist newsletter also provides information on current topics relating to HIV, STIs and sexual health, as well as new Academy courses.

Academy
Academy is the Swiss AIDS Federation’s continuing professional development programme for sexual health professionals, particularly in the field of HIV and other STI prevention. Details of the training courses offered by our Academy are shared with our members in our newsletters. Every year, we offer various types of training: workshops, conferences and courses running over several weeks. In addition, anyone interested can access the Library on our website. There, we publish various guidelines as well as current studies, conference reports and many of our webinars.
Specialist newsletter
The Swiss AIDS Federation newsletter provides information on important topics and current events in the field of HIV, STI and sexual health.
Shop
The Swiss AIDS Aid online shop offers interested individuals information materials tailored to specific target groups on HIV, STIs and sexual health in general. You will find a wide range of leaflets, flyers and other publications to order or download, as well as external and internal condoms, lubricants and ‘Safer Use’ kits at attractive prices.
Legal advice
People living with HIV, member organisations of Swiss AIDS Aid, professionals and anyone else interested can contact our legal advice service by telephone or in writing regarding matters directly related to HIV.
SURE Surveillance Response
Since 2026, Swiss AIDS Aid has been managing the national surveillance programme (SURE) for HIV and other STI testing. SURE provides information to support consultations and enables processes to be organised efficiently. The anonymised data also helps to improve sexual healthcare in Switzerland through high-quality analyses.

The Members’ Fund
The Swiss AIDS Aid Members’ Fund is financed through our public fundraising activities. Full and associate members are entitled to a share of the Members’ Fund’s assets, subject to the exceptions set out in the fund regulations.
Voting rights at the Delegates’ Assembly
The Delegates’ Assembly (DA) meets once a year. All member organisations of Swiss AIDS Aid are invited to take part in accordance with the following provisions of our Articles of Association: Each full member may send a maximum of two delegates of their choice to the DA. A full member has two votes. Each associate member and each national member may send a maximum of one delegate of their choice to the Delegates’ Assembly. Associate and national members each have one vote at the Delegates’ Assembly. Network members are permitted to attend the Delegates’ Assembly with one representative, but do not have the right to vote.
