Testing

People who have sex cannot protect themselves from all STIs, because they are easily transmitted. Even condoms do not offer sufficient protection, since some pathogens – but not HIV – are also transmitted during kissing, touching and oral sex.

You sometimes have symptoms (burning, itching, rash) when infected with an STI, but in many cases, symptoms do not appear at all or only after a longer period of time. In most cases, an STI can be treated and cured without any problems. Some STIs heal spontaneously if undetected, but they can also lead to serious health complications.

The best strategy is regular testing for the most important STIs. Our tip for everyone: new relationship, new test. In this way, you can protect your health and prevent further transmission.
