Positive voices: Recommendations for action

Unfortunately, stigmatization and discrimination are still a reality today. We must act!

Online surveys and focus group interviews continue to show that stigmatization and discrimination remain a major challenge for people living with HIV. In Positive Voices, 56% of respondents state that they have had at least one discriminatory experience in the healthcare system in the last 12 months. Unfortunately, we are aware of these examples and categories: from denial of treatment to privacy violations or avoidance of physical contact, etc.

Furthermore, the survey shows that although 96% of people living with HIV believe in protection from transmission through treatment, 32% of them are afraid of transmitting the virus. We have to keep at it: Details and recommendations for action can be found here in German and here in English.
